HOW WE PARTNERED WITH VIBRANT DATA LABS

Eric Berlow

Eric Berlow

We’ve partnered with Eric Berlow and Vibrant Data Labs to utilize the Climate Finance Tracker. Through a data science and ecosystems approach, we utilized visibility of the field landscape to identify “shining star” entrepreneurs and “positive deviant” investors, and to uncover gaps in funding as well as opportunities for collaboration.

ABOUT VIBRANT DATA LABS

Untitled

The climate crisis is an “all hands on deck” problem. Trillions of dollars will be deployed in the next decade across climate mitigation and adaptation. Trillions will also be wasted without good data to guide funding decisions. Everyone needs to see who is funding what in order to identify high impact gaps & opportunities.

Our mission is to increase the impact of climate finance by supporting funders and field builders with public and open-source data tools to empower:

Discovery

…by making climate funding data visual and searchable.

Insights

…by revealing high impact funding gaps impossible to see with the naked brain.

Action

…by bringing data to life by supporting evidence-based decisions and narratives.

ABOUT VIBRANT DATA LABS: THE CLIMATE FINANCE TRACKER

The climate problem is incredibly complex and will not be solved alone. We need better ways to collaborate and navigate this crisis together. To that end, we are creating tools to visualize climate funding flows to organizations and companies on the ground. Using our Climate Finance Trackers, climate funders and ‘ecosystem builders’ can explore who is funding what, what are the gaps and opportunities, who to talk to or convene for shared learnings, and what type of capital could be most effective where.

Climate change is disrupting all foundational aspects of human life - from food, water, and agriculture to public health, livelihoods, and social cohesion. While enterprises big and small are stepping up to meet the climate emergency and trillions of dollars in investment will be made in climate solutions in the next decade, how can we ensure this capital is distributed effectively and equitably? Climate funders need to consider the big picture, spot gaps, redundancies, and opportunities, and work together to secure our future.
