Women of Color Collective In Sustainability
WOC/CS co-founder Chante Harris was a Senior Fellow with Summit Impact and currently serves on Summit Impact’s board of directors. A champion of social innovation and scaling sustainability companies through successful growth strategies, Chante has been a tremendous thought partner as we navigate the climate landscape, providing her expert guidance and direction.
As part of the selection committee, Chante reviewed applicants by their entrepreneurial potential, their proven and potential impact, and alignment of organizational scale.
WOC/CS, pronounced /woke•sīs/, is a collective created to support women of color who want to connect, collaborate, identify mentorships, job opportunities and seek resources within sustainability.
We love what we do and use our superpowers of subject matter expertise in sustainability and social innovation to empower women of color and improve our environment. WOC/CS strives to be a resource for opportunities across the sustainability ecosystem for women of color to build their careers, create professional success and support their well-being. We know when we actively and decisively step forward in ensuring other women’s voices are heard and valued, we are contributing to the overall success of all women.
We are over hundreds of permaculture-composting gurus, fashion-forward environmentalists, urbantech founders, energy policy wonks, coding geeks, social impact doers, boss female engineers, multifaceted architects, jack of all trades consultants, public advocates, multi-talented artivists and ecofeminists of color.
